Obituary	MRS. H. STANTON SAWYER Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, July 22, at the Garland church for Mrs. Florence Edith Sawyer, 93, wife of Dr. H. Stanton Sawyer, who died Thursday night at the Hibbard Nursing Home at Dover-Foxcroft after a long illness. Frederick Marsh of Corinna officiated. Bearers were Fred Rollins, Frederick Olson, Vernon Packard, all of Garland, and Stanley Floyd of Boyd Lake. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Garland. She was born at Corinna, Dec. 25, 1879, daughter of Charles and Martha Cole. A graduate of Higgins Classical Institute, she taught school for several years in and around Garland, and had served as a member of the Garland school board. She was a member of the Dexter Woman's Literary Club, Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge, and a past president of the Garland Ladies' Aid. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Guy of Garland and Warren of Dexter; a daughter, Mrs. Oliver LaFrance (Thelma) of Lynn, Mass., nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
