Obituary	MRS. SAM STAPLES Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Dexter Methodist Church for Mrs. Mernice Staples, 64, wife of Sam Staples, who died Friday at the Plummer Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The Rev. Gordon F. Parlin officiated. Bearers were: Irl McKusick, Roland Goulette, Vincent Ganeau, and Francis Hatch. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Mrs. Staples was born at Dover-Foxcroft, January 8, 1898, daughter of James and Elizabeth (Spaulding) Lampher. She was a member of the Dexter Methodist Church, the Woman's Society of Christian Service, Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge and Dexter Grange. Besides her husband, she is survived by a brother, Eugene Lampher of Corinna; a sister, Mrs. Teresa Green of Dover-Foxcroft; nieces, nephews and cousins.
