Obituary
RICHARD H. COOKSON Funeral services were held at the Crosby Funeral Home at Dexter Tuesday for Richard H. Cookson, 55, husband of Violet (Allen) Cookson, who died suddenly Saturday at his home on the upper Garland Road. According to officials, his death was self-inflicted by hanging. The Rev. Gordon F. Parlin of the Methodist Church officiated. The remains will be placed in the receving vault to await burial. A life-long resident of Dexter, he was born here April 21, 1906, son of Henry and Nancy (McKinney) Cookson. He was employed by the Amos Abbott Woolen Company. Surviving are his widow, Violet; a sons, Albert, of Dexter; two brothers, James of Dexter and Michael of Dover-Foxcroft; five sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Mann, Mrs. Charles Morrison, both of Dexter, Mrs. Eva Sibley of Guilford, Mrs. Alice Hichborn of Corinth, Mrs. Harry E. Young of California; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
