Obituary	MRS. EDWIN DEWS Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Nov. 24, at the Crosby Funeral Home at Dexter for Mrs. Rosa Dews, 84, wife of Edwin Dews, who died Wednesday at the Plummer Hospital, Dexter, after several weeks of failing health. The Rev. Gordon F. Parlin of the Dexter Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in a Guilford cemetery. Bearers were Urban Mountain of Dover-Foxcroft, Reginald Dews of Cumberland; Raymond Mountain of Old Town, and Freeman Mountain of Dexter. Interment was in the family lot in Guilford. Mrs. Dews was born at Coalpit Heath, England, June 22, 1877, daughter of Lot and Hannah (Keats) Batten. She lived in England, South Africa and Canada before coming to the United States in 1921 and moved to Dexter from Hampden about 15 years ago. Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Frank Mullett of Coventry, England, and John Mullett of Great Yarmouth, England; two daughters, Mrs. D. J. Dadies of Gloucester, England and Mrs. Eugene Rowe of Presque Isle; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Urban Mountain of Dover-Foxcroft; a brother, John Batten of Coalpit; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
