Obituary
MILTON R. BEAN Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 28, at the Methodist Church at Strong for Milton R. Bean, 38, husband of Mrs. Miriam Stevens Bean, formerly of Dexter, who was killed Saturday afternoon by a 15-year-old companion while hunting in the Foster Hill area at Strong. The Rev. John Hoffman officiated. Johnson-Cox Post, A. L., conducted a military committal service at the Village Cemetery. Bean was born at Strong, Nov. 11, 1923, son of Charles Ray and Gladys (Lambert) Bean. After attending the schools at Strong, he was graduated from the N. Y. A School conducted for a time at Dexter. He had been employed as an electrician and machinist at Dexter, but since 1944 had been in the employ of the Forster Mfg. Co. A veteran of World War II, he was a member and past commander of Johnson-Cox Post, American Legion; a member of Davis Lodge, A. F. and A. M., and the Strong Fire Department. Besides his widow, Mrs. Miriam Stevens Bean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood A. Stevens of Dexter, he is survived by two sons, Stephen and Alan; a daughter, Elizabeth Lou; his parents, of Strong; two aunts, five uncles, several nieces and nephews.
