Mrs. Laura J. Page Funeral services for Mrs. Laura J. Page, 67, were held from the Methodist church Sunday afternoon and were largely attended by relatives and friends. Beautiful flowers, tokens of loving esteem, banked the casket and altar. Rev. Walter Towle, pastor of the church was assisted in the service by Rev. Frederick L. Niles, a former pastor, from Corinna, who read a poem, "Alone In the Garden With God," written by Mrs. Page several years ago. During the commital service at the grave at Mount Pleasant cemetery, Rev. Mr. Niles read another of her poems, "At Rest," a request she had made to him about a year and a half ago. The active bearers were Frederick Mountain, Harry Westtgate, Bernard Mountain, Harry Westgate, Bernard ary bearers were Charles S. Brewster, Harry W. Brawn, Roy Wheeler, Elwin Farnham, Ralph Lowell, and Frank Howard. Mrs. Page was born in Ellerslie, Prince Edward Island March 9, 1887, the daughter of James Alfred and Mary Elizabeth Sudsbury Howell. When about seventeen years of age, she came to Dexter and worked for a time in the home of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Mudgett. She was united in marriage April 14, 1905, to Frank E. Page and to them seven children were born all of whom survive. Mr. Page died November 13, 1942. Mrs. Page was a member of Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge and of Dexter Grange of which she was chaplain for the past.two years. She was also a member of the Methodist Women's Society of Christian Service. A great lover of poetry, she wrote many poems, a large number having been printed in various papers and magazines. Her name appeared in Whose Who in Poetry in America. Surviving relatives are the three daughters, Miss Estelle. E Page of Machias, Miss Geraldine Page and Miss Judith Page of Dexter; four sons, Edgar M. of Dexter; S/Sgt. Frank H. of Fort Lewis Washington; Cpl. G. Manford, Somewhere in France; S/Sgt. Eben P W., in the Southwest Pacific; four sisters, Mrs. William Murphy and Mrs. Emery Lyle of Prince Edward Island; Mrs. Walter Foss of Middletown, Conn., and Mrs. James Guynn of Bath also one grand child, Millard Page of Dexter.
