Obituary
CLARENCE McKENNEY Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Oct. 15, at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, for Clarence McKenney, 79, husband of Mrs. Jennie (Hatch) McKenney, who died suddenly last Thursday morning while working around his home. The Rev. Ronald Libby of Charleston, pastor of the East Corinth Pentecostal Church, officiated. Harold Libby and Arthur Holt sang a duet. Bearers were: Harry Merrill, Roland Goulette, Archie Parker, Richard Towle, George Safford, all of Dexter, and Harold Speed, East Corinth. Burial was in the Nutter Cemetery, Corinna. Mr. McKenney had been a resident of Dexter for 44 years. He was born at Lincoln, March 21, 1882, son of Fred and Sarah (Wheelden) McKenney. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a weaver in Dexter woolen mills. Besides his widow he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Costello of Corinna, Miss Virginia McKenney of Elizabeth, N. J., and Mrs. Paula Speed of East Corinth; one son, Harold McKenney of Stockton Springs; one sister, Mrs. John Hanson of Dexter; one brother, Emerson McKenney of Corinna; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
