Obituary
Roger Higgins Percival The many friends and schoolmates of Roger Higgins Percival, 14, a sophomore at N. H. Fay High school were shocked and grieved to hear of his death Tuesday afternoon. After a week's illness from the flu, a serious case of appendicitis set in, and he did not recover from an operation performed at the hospital Tuesday. He was born in Dexter, April 16, 1929, the son of the late H. Elton and Angie Higgins Percival of Corinna. He was active in 4-H club work for several years, and was very popular with his schoolmates. He has been a member of the high school orchestra since entering N. H. Fay High last year and was also a member of the band during his Freshman year. Surviving besides his mother are a brother, Richard Percival, S 2/c, a U. S. Naval Aviation student, at Tarmac School, Peru, Ind; a grandmother Mrs. May Higgins of Dexter; an aunt, Miss Linnie Higgins of Dexter; and two uncles, Maurice Percival of Bangor and Wallace Percival of Portland. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist church. Rev. Ondon Stairs of Vineyard Haven, Mass., a former pastor, and close friend of the family, will officiate.
