Obituary	MISS GERTRUDE A. BURNS Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, July 2, at the Crosby Funeral Home at Dexter for Miss Gertrude A. Burns, 74, who died Friday at St. Dominic's Nursing Home (formerly the Cushman Home), Dexter, after a long period of failing health. The Rev. E. King Hempel of the First Universalist Church officiated. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Miss Burns was born at Dexter, April 17, l887, daughter of Frank and Harriet (Cushman) Burns. She attended Dexter schools and Westbrook Seminary. For a time she lived at Bath and Rochester, N. H. She was active in the First Universalist Church in this town and for many years occupied an apartment at the home of a cousin, Mrs. Herbert E. Woodard, Center st., Dexter. She is survived by another cousin, Mrs. Wilford E. Slater of Dexter.
