Obituary	EDWIN J. PEAVEY Funeral services were held at the Garland Church Tuesday afternoon, for Edwin J. Peavey, 76, who died Saturday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Adams, where he had made his home for many years. Frederick Marsh of Corinna, lay preacher, officiated. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. He was born at Exeter, Oct. 9, 1884, the son of George and Mary (Murray) Peavey. He was the owner of Peavey's Express, which he sold in 1940 to Fox and Ginn. He was a member of Garland Grange, Penobscot Pomona, State and National Grange. For many years, he served on the Garland superintending school committee. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Helen Smith of Orrington; a sister, Mrs. Grace Dewhurst of Hialeah, Fla.; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
