Obituary	WALTER L. GORDON 1862 - 1934 Walter L. Gordon was born in West Garland, Maine, in 1862 and died at his summer home in West Garland June 1, 1934. He learned the Machinists trade of his father and in 1889 they built a shop in Caribou, Maine, and moved their machinery there. In 1892 they sold out and Walter went to Fort Payne, Alabama, to work at his trade for several years for the Dustin Manufacturing Company. Later he came north and engaged in the creamery business with Mr. Freeland J. Gerry, in Garland, under the firm name of F. J. Gerry and Company. Mr. Gordon and Mr. Gerry built the three story brick block on Main Street in Dexter village, long known as the Gerry Block where they engaged in the grocery business. They told the creamery business to D. Whiting and Sons and Mr. Gordon went on the road for the Enterprise Separator Company until in failing health he retired from business. He took up his residence at the old farm home in West Garland spending his summers there and his winters in Florida. He was united in marriage with Miss Flora Davis.
