Obituary
ALICE E. PIPER Mrs. Alice E. Piper, widow of Almond E. Piper, died April 29 at a convalescent home in Bangor. Born in Carmel Dec. 4, 1888, she was the daughter of Horace H. and Mary (Leathers) Wheeler. She was married in 1909, and lived all her life in Etna, Newport and Dexter. She was a former member of the Rebekahs, Pythian Sisters, 0. E. Star, Women's Relief Corps, Women's Christian Temperance Union. Surviving are: two sons, Quentin A., Orono; Greydon W., Newport; a brother, Lewis B. Wheeler, Long Island, N. Y.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, The Rev. A. Allan Brough of Fairfield, a former pastor of the Dexter Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Newport cemetery. Bearers were Hugh Hutchins, Clarence M. Pierce, both of Dexter; Richard Dore, Bangor; and Mr. Williams of Orono.
