GARDINER L. SMITH Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the Crosby Funeral Home in Dexter for Gardner L. Smith, 54, who died Tuesday at the Plummer Hospital after a period of failing health. The Rev. Walter B. Wakeman of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Bearers will be J. Frederick Marsh, Norman B. Smith, Harold Harrington, Albion H. Fields and Perley R. Williams, Kenneth H. Marsh. Friends may call today, Thursday, at the funeral home from 2 to 4 oclock and 7 to 9 o'clock this evening. He was born at Lynn, Mass., Nov. 23, 1905, son o Harry C. and Mabelle B. Smith. He had resided at Dexter for about 46 years, and had been employed at the Amos Abbott Company woolen mill. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dexter. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Eleanor M. Smith, Dexter; two sons, Sgt. Clinton F. Smith of Fort Sill, Okla., and Gardner M. Smith of Dexter; two daughters Mrs. John Kazlaskas, Jr., of Miami, Fla., and Marsha J. Smith of Dexter; his mother, Mabelle Smith, Dexter; his father, Harry of Milton, Vt., two brothers, Harry F. Smith of Dexter and Norman B. Smith of Auburn; two sisters, Mrs. Frank McKinney of Rockhand and Mrs. Harold Harrington of Readfield Depot; two grandchildren, Miss Roselies G. Fiedler, Lawton, Okla., and Brian D. Kazlaskas, Miami, Fla., nieces and nephews.
