Obituary
JAMES COUGHLIN Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock today (Thursday, July 28 at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Dexter, for James Coughlin, 65, who died Monday at a Madison nursing home after a long illness. The Rev: Leonard A. LeClair, Chaplain at the Veterans Hospital in Togus, officiated. Bearers were: Fred Keyte, Eddie Nichols, George Vigue, Paul Dyer Leo Poirier, and Philip Vigue. Burial was in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. He was born in Ellsworth, Feb. 25 1895, son of the late William J. and Catherine S. Coughlin. He received his education in the Dexter schools, and was employed at the Fay and Scott Machine Shop until November, 1916, when he went to the Portsmouth Navy Yard to work and remained there until he retired in May, 1954. He then returned to Dexter to live for two years prior to going to Norridgewock to assist his brother, John Coughlin, at the Riverside Market. He is survived by his wife, Susan G. of Boston, Mass., a sister, Miss Mary E. Coughlin, Silver Spring, Md., four brothers, Clarence W. of Los Angeles Calif., Francis M. of Biddeford, John L. of Norridgewock and Frederick N. Silver, Spring, Md.
