Obituary
LESLIE W. DAVIS Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home in Dexter for Leslie Walter Davis, 77, who died suddenly last Thursday afternoon at the Plummer hospital. The Rev. Herman Grove, pastor of the Methodist Church officiated. Bearers were: Carl Titcomb, of Newport; Franklin Titcomb, of Abbot; Dr. Malcolm J. Stewart, Harold Blaisdell, Jackson Bridges, and Graham Haley, all of Dexter. Burial was in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. A life long resident, Mr. Davis was born in Dexter, May 21, 1883, son of Charles H. and Emma Louise (Painter) Davis. He was educated in the Dexter schools and worked at the Amos Abbot Company mill when a young man. Prior to retiring in 1936, he was overseer of finishing at the Brick Mill. He is survived by his widow, Winnie (Russell) Davis; one son, Howard L. Davis, of Dexter; two grandsons; two brothers, Charles A. Davis of Winterport and Albert L. Davis of Dexter; a half sister, Mrs. Eva Tracy of Dexter; several nieces and nephews. Attending the service from out-of-town were: Charles A. Davis, Winterport; Emil Davis, Framingham, Mass., Mrs. John Pooler, Sangerville; Mrs. Rex Bartlett, Pittsfield; Mr. and Mrs. Allister Dawson, Belmont, Mass., Franklin Titcomb, Abbot; Carl Titcomb, Newport; Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Page of Dover-Foxcroft.
