Obituary	MRS. WALTER L. BUTTERFIELD A prayer service was held Sunday afternoon at the Rhodes Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, Fla., for Jennie Mae Butterfield, 73, wife of Walter LaMont Butterfield of Orono and St. Petersburg, formerly of Dexter. Funeral services will be held this spring at Orono. Mrs. Butterfield died suddenly last Friday, Jan. 29, at Mound Park Hospital, St. Petersburg. She was born in Bradley, Sept. 18, 1986, daughter of Lucy A. and Fred P. Spruce. She attended the Bradley schools, was graduated from Eastern State Normal School at Castine in 1908, and taught in the schools of Bradley for several years. Mrs. Butterfield lived in Great Works and St. Petersburg for many years, later moving to Dexter and recently to Orono when they sold their home on Maple st. in this town. Mr. and Mrs. Butterfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, Nov. 23, 1959. She was a member of Katahdin Chapter, 0. E. S., of Old Town, an honorary member of the Sunshine Club of Dexter, and the Universalist Ladies' Aid. She attended the First Universalist Church of Dexter. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Dr. Walter L. Butterfield, Jr., three grandsons of Wethersfield, Conn.; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Moulton, and Mrs. George A. Powers of Bradley; two brothers, Ellen F. Spruce of Orono and Harold L. Spruce of Bradley; several nieces and nephews.
