Obituary
LESTER D. MURRAY Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home in Dexter for Lester D. Murray, 82, who died Thursday at his home on Free st., after a long illness. The Rev. Walter B. Wakeman of the First Baptist Church officiated. There was a Masonic service and brother Masons acted as bearers. Interment was in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Mr. Murray was born in Guilford, Sept. 9, 1877, son of William K. and Mary (Holt) Murray. He was a resident of Dexter the greater part of his life, and was employed at one of the woolen mills and at the Fay and Scott Machine Shop previous to his retirement. He was a 50-year member of Penobscot Lodge, A. F. and A. M. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ora (Clark) Murray of Dexter; a son, Lloyd, of Washington, D. C., three sisters, Miss Mildred Murray and Mrs. Garnet Bullard, of Dexter; and Mrs. Edna Barrett of Clinton. Among relatives and friends here for the service were his son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Murray of Washington, D. C., Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Stevens, Waterville; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Barrett, Mrs. Elmer Barrett, Clinton; Miss Claire Sanders, Orono; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Bullard, Guilford; Mr. and Mrs. John Bullard, Bangor; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Pratt, Clinton; and several from Cambridge.
