Obituary	ANNIE WEYMOUTH KNIGHT 1840 - 1921 Susan Annie Weymouth was born in Sangerville, Maine, September 22, 1840, the daughter of John and Lucia Newhall Weymouth. She died in St. Albans, March 23, 1921. Mrs. Knight was one of the "Mother's In Israel" who go about doing good. As-an experienced nurse she was a welcome visitor in many households. We copy the following which appeared in a local paper at the time of her death: "The recent passing from our midst of Mrs. Annie Weymouth Knights merits more than ordinary notice She was perhaps one of the last of the old type, of neighborly, women (formerly found in nearly every town and hamlet), whose places are fast being taken owing probably to changing conditions of life and society, by the organizations, the club, the health nurse and the missions. Early in life she became accustomed to work for others and service ever seemed to be her watchword. Devotion to family meant much to her and her husband and children found her ever faithful. She was a woman of unusual health and vigor and thoroughly believed that a wife should be a helper as far as possible in the earning as well as the making of the home and it was in this way that she became not only interested in nursing as a profession but in the charitable work that became so important a part of her life work and which she quietly carried on for years during a time when but little interest seemed manifest in this line of work. It was to her that the rich and poor went with their burden of care sickness and sorrow and come away with renewed courage and vigor for her being such as to give new vision to the needy ones. She was unquestionably a woman of talent, of brilliant mind, with wonderful insight into character. She was unusually fond of literature and of the arts. Above all however she was a practical, sensible woman, fond of friends, of home, of church, and club and above all she had an ever increasing love and sympathy for sick, sorrowing and sinning humanity. In the four score years alloted her she witnessed much of interest and was given to see many changes. The years brought her much of accomplishment and in passing she leaves us the wonderful legacy, a record of a beautiful and noble life and a never ending influence for kindly loving service."
