Obituary
HERBERT A. LYON Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, for Herbert A. Lyon, 72, husband of Mrs. Nellie Lyon, who died suddenly Friday morning at their aprtment on Free st. The Rev. E. King Hernpel of the First Universalist Church officiated. Bearers were: Richard McCotter, of Hartford, Conn., and Brother Masons, Harvey Blake, Donald C. Blake, Vill Priest, John Knowles and Chester LeeStrout, all of Dexter. Interment was at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Mr. Lyon was born at Lee, April 25, 1887, son of Andrew and Clotella (Lombard) Lyon. For a number of years he was employed as a machinist at the Fay-Scott Machine Company. More recently, prior to his retirement, he was a machinist at the Chapman Machine Shop, Old Town. He was a member of Penobscot Lodge, A. F. & A. M., and a former member of Plymouth Lodge, IOOF About a year ago, Mr. and Mrs. Lyon moved back to Dexter from Stillwater where they had been residing. Beisdes his wife, Nellie, he is survived by a son, Richard C. McCotter of Hartford, Conn., a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Blake of Dexter; four sisters, Mrs. Bernice Berdeen of Waterville, Mrs. Laura Hunter of China, Mrs. Etta Gunnison of Kittery and Mrs. Eleanor Hussey of Vassalboro; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
