Obituary	MRS. CHARLES JOHNSTON Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home in Dexter for Mrs. Winnifred Hatch Johnston, 68, wife of Charles Johnston, who died Friday at her home in Ripley after a long illness. The Rev. Howard E. Benson, pastor of the Dexter and Ripley Methodist Churches, officiated. Bearers were: Allard and Wilbur Packard of Dexter; Guy Wakefield of Bangor; Clarence Skillings and Robert Harding, Hartland; Amos Bodge, Clinton. Burial was in Ferndale Cemetery, Ripley. Mrs. Johnston was born in Ripley, February 20, 1891 the daughter of Herbert and Clara (Wakefield) Skillings. She had spent her entire life in that town and for many years was operator of the Ripley telephone office. She is survived by her husband; one son, Lindell Hatch, of Dexter; two brothers, Clifton and Jesse Skillings, of Ripley; and three ... Note: rest of obituary not in paper
