Obituary
EARL Z. CROWELL Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home in Dexter for Earl Z. Crowell, 70, of Maple st., Dexter, who died Thursday night at the Plummer Hospital after a long period of failing health. The Rev. Richard J. Norsworthy, former pastor of the First Universalist Church, officiated. Burial was at the West Garland Cemetery. Mr. Crowell was born in Corinna, Aug. 19, 1888, the son of Seldon L. and Emma (Ellis) Crowell. He was educated in the Corinna schools and at the age of 18 started as an apprentice at the Fay and Scott machine shop in Dexter to learn the machine trade. He was employed there for many years; left during the World War I to work at the Kittery Navy Yard, and then returned to the Dexter shop. He was a member of the Dexter Fire Department for 40 years, and an honorary member of Plymouth Lodge, I. 0. 0. F. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beulah (Stillings) Crowell; one daughter, Mrs. Althea Williams of Rochester, N. Y., a half-sister, Mrs. Gertrude Hayden of Corinna; a granddaughter, a grandson, a niece, a nephew and several cousins.
