Obituary	MAURICE F. BRIGGS Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home in Dexter for Maurice F. Briggs, 65, who died Saturday at the Plummer Hospital after a long illness. The Rev. Walter B. Wakeman of the First Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Bearers were: George Additon, George Safford, Ralph Sampson, Harry Merrill, Cleland Cochrane and Weston, Sherburne, all of Dexter. He was born in Dexter, March 14, 1894, the son of John and Elizabeth (Smith) Briggs. His entire life was spent in Dexter and the Ripley area where the was engaged in farming until his health failed. He had been a member of Dexter Grange, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Bertha (Wiggin) Briggs; one daughter, Mrs. Graham Haley; one son, John Briggs, both of Dexter; and seven grandchildren.
