Obituary
JOHN L. TOWLE Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home for John L. Towle, 88, who died Thursday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Edna Robichaud after a short illness. The Rev. Richard J. Norsworthy of the First Universalist Church officiated. Bearers were grandsons, Wendell Champeon of Cape Elizabeth; Rodney Champeon and John Robichaud, both of Dexter; Clifford Robichaud, Portland; Fay Towle, of Newport; and Bradley Nelson, of Norway. Burial was in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Mr. Towle was born in Dexter, Oct. 27, 1872, son of John and Cynthia (Nichols) Towle. He was a lifelong resident of Dexter and was a farmer. He is survived by two sons, Wallace of Dexter and Clifford of E. Corinth; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Robichaud, Mrs. Helen Degerstrom, both of Dexter, and Mrs. Dorothy Nelson of Portland; a brother, Albert, of Dexter; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
